Sushi Class

Learning the ropes

Chris, working on his second avocado roll...the teacher threw the first one in the trash! :)

Chris and I signed up for a sushi class at the Sunflower Market (best grocery in town!!). Anyway, we didn't really know what we were getting ourselves into, but we showed up at 5:30, paid our $20, washed our hands, put on gloves and a smile and started class. Well, to summarize, it was AWESOME!! We learned to make several kinds of rolls and got to take everything that we had made home with us for dinner! We each made a huge California roll, a spicy tuna roll, a cucumber/avocado/carrot roll, and small seaweed on the outside avocado roll. We made a few mistakes here and there, but mostly we killed it and then hurried home to stuff ourselves silly with all of the food we'd just made! Best $20 I've spent in quite awhile!!

Chris "Speedy Gonzalz Sushi Roller" Baddick

While we each made 4 rolls in about an hour, our instructor told us that he often makes about 120 rolls in a day...wow!

Slacking

The day that I broke my ankle

13 weeks later... :(

I've been slacking on posts a bit lately, sorry. Things have been a bit disappointing over the last couple of weeks, so...nothing too exciting to write about, but here's the summary.

1-Saw Dr. Steve Paul, an amazing orthpaedic surgeon in town. He spent 45 minutes (unheard of for a Dr. these days!!!) weighing and talking about the options I've got for my ankle right now. In the end we decided to give it another 3 weeks to see if it'll heal anymore on its own, if not...surgery, which will put me out for another 6 weeks. This is really starting to suck! :(

2-Sponsorship for this year sucks. Period.

3-The experiment that I've been working on since December got contaminated with some funky mold last week. Awesome!

4-Okay, there's no 4, thankfully!! :)

Other than that, I've just been trying to just my butt at school and work on getting into shape as best as I can only being able to ride the trainer or SUPER easy trails and going to Yoga.

Just got back from my

11 week post break follow up Dr. appointment and my dumb ankle is still very much broken. :( I'm not really sure what else I could be doing differently at this point...bone stimulator, bone building supplements, vitamins, Arnica, eating loads of vegetables. Anyone got anything else??? I'm at a loss and starting to get really bummed about it!

The Burly Way to get to Australia!!

Type in: "Denver, CO to Sydney, AUS".

Too funny! Not sure why you'd have to take the 長崎~奈良尾~奈留島~福江 ferry if you've already completed #s 17 and 31 with the intentions of completing #94, too!!
