Our New Pet
We decided to call him Peter because we thought that if our good friend Peter got really fat except that his arms and legs stayed the same, he might look kinda like our new pet. He stopped by for 3 full meals yesterday.
Hopefully he'll decide to stop by a little more often, well, at least until he gets done eating all of the sparse green grass in the backyard. Better than a cat or dog, really, he feeds himself, gets his own exercise, only problem is that he's not very cuddly! haha

Life Is Good...
Or rather is about to get really darn good, as soon as I get on a plane and head down south to Phoenix for the weekend. Camp Buhly, here I come! XC, BMX, moto, the desert, wine, maybe a little time at the spa, some more XC, and then, sadly, get on a plane and come home!
Should be awesome...I'll let ya know. :)

The Ways We Amuse Ourselves
Chris and I seem to be a bit random sometimes. I picked out a chip and thought it looked like Italy, so Chris decided that we should make a corn chip map of Europe. It turned out pretty darn good, if you ask me! :)

Back to the ER...
Luckily for me, not for me, unfortunately for Chris, he had a pretty major get off on his ride at White Ranch today. He just lost his balance on a very technical/trialsy climb and fell to his left. Unfortunately, there was nothing at all to his left except ~30 foot fall on his face to rock. He had to get 6 stitches, three in his hand and three in his mouth. His cheek is pretty swollen and I'm sure he'll be pretty sore when he gets up tomorrow, but LUCKILY he didn't brake any bones or hurt is brain!
Asian Adventure
So, Chris and I decided to head down to Viet Hoa, the crazy Asian market in Denver, yesterday afternoon. This place is wild! Things are generally really inexpensive, but sometimes you have no idea what you're getting. Often, the gamble doesn't turn out great, but sometimes you find some great little gems! Since we took a sushi class a couple of weeks ago, we decided we needed some sushi making supplies so we could actually test out our skills and see how we would fare, unsupervised, in our own kitchen. After quite a leisurely stroll through the many aisles of the large grocery, we set off for home for the evening's adventure, Asian Amature Hour!
Both Chris and I cook quite a bit (well Chris more than me and more effectively, too!) so, we know the ins and outs of the kitchen fairly well, but we both commented on how out of our element we felt trying to prepare some pretty simple Asian dishes! In the end we had some pretty tasty (and moderately well rolled) sushi, spring rolls, and edamame with a little sake added in for good measure! All and all we decided that everything turned out pretty darn good!

Deutsch Klasse 101
Es ist an der Zeit, Deutsch zu lernen!
So, I've been talking about learning German for WAY too long now, and I've finally saddled up and am staring to learn! Yea!! It is just a non-credit class that meets once a week, but it's great, there are only three of us, and our teacher is awesome! She doesn't mind all of our silly questions about why something is like it is or how does something or other sound?!? I'm hoping to get a good basis for taking a real class at some point! Maybe I'll learn enough to have HALF a clue about what Chris is saying to me in German all the time! :) That's the plan anyway. Then, when I go back to Germany and Austria, hopefully I'll be a little less clueless!

How to turn a 1.5 hour ride into a 3 hour ride...
1) Have LOTS of fun!!! :)
2) Fix two flat tyres
3) Fix a broken chain
4) Take a downhiller who goes slow on the long uphill with you
5 ) Stop and have a nice lunch break with fantastic cheese and bread
6) Ride like a complete hack, bashing into every rock on the trail (and there are a lot!!)
(sorry, no pictures of this, best not to remember or ever try to replicate!!)
7) Take loads of photos!
