Sushi Class

Learning the ropes

Chris, working on his second avocado roll...the teacher threw the first one in the trash! :)

Chris and I signed up for a sushi class at the Sunflower Market (best grocery in town!!). Anyway, we didn't really know what we were getting ourselves into, but we showed up at 5:30, paid our $20, washed our hands, put on gloves and a smile and started class. Well, to summarize, it was AWESOME!! We learned to make several kinds of rolls and got to take everything that we had made home with us for dinner! We each made a huge California roll, a spicy tuna roll, a cucumber/avocado/carrot roll, and small seaweed on the outside avocado roll. We made a few mistakes here and there, but mostly we killed it and then hurried home to stuff ourselves silly with all of the food we'd just made! Best $20 I've spent in quite awhile!!

Chris "Speedy Gonzalz Sushi Roller" Baddick

While we each made 4 rolls in about an hour, our instructor told us that he often makes about 120 rolls in a day...wow!
